Gentle of the Living Wilds

Gentle is a older mustelkin woman. Standing around 5 ft. tall with soft brown colored fur and a muzzle long turned white with age. Her dark brown/blue eyes remain sharp in spite of said age and so does her tongue. Speaking with the typically thick accent from the Living Wilds region. Gentle takes pride in her appearance decorating the longer sections of fur with ribbons and complex braids. She always always wears a metal choker set with a pair of amethyst and a bloodstone pendant. Always smelling of coffee and honeysuckle, Gentle is ready and willing to invite the weary in for a much needed rest.

Gentle is the owner of a local boarding house in Calstien (capital).  She is a more recent addition to city's middle class district having only moved in the last ten years.  Before moving to the city, Gentle was born and raised resident of the mining town Hasstead.  There she worked in the mines from the age of ten well into her thirties.  Once she had enough savings Gentle left Hasstead to go into the hospitality business, something she's always had a passion for, eventually landing a dream location where there's always a traveler in need of a good rest.  While Gentle is the only fully permanent resident of the home, many have come and gone from the boarding house. Giving Gentle a very large web of connections.  Her boarding house is highly recommended for folks down on there luck or in need of a safe place to spend a night.

Connections

Gentle is someone everyone seems to know locally. Her reputation as a kind old woman with a warm bed and a hot meal for the weary proceeds her. Some are surprised by her agreement to work with the Steward's Tower and Faustius Gehanne. At the end of the day though, Gentle knows a good opportunity when she sees one.

Kuria Sang | Gentle has taken a strong liking to the quietly anxious Korvis transplant. Allowing them to use of the entire top floor of her boarding house as a doctor office and living quarters. Gentle has seemingly unofficially adopted them.

Features and Traits

Darkvision | You can see in Dim Light within a specified range as if it were Bright Light and in Darkness within that range as if it were Dim Light. You discern colors in that Darkness only as shades of gray.

Nimble | As a bonus action you may take the Dash Action. Additionally you may also gain Proficiency Bonus to acrobatic and athletic checks as you climb, scale or leap using the Nimble ability. You can move through the space of any creature that is of a size larger than yours.

Speak with Small Beasts | Through sounds and gestures, you can communicate simple ideas with Small or smaller beasts. You love animals and often keep squirrels, badgers, rabbits, moles, woodpeckers, and other creatures as beloved pets.

Natural Weapons | You have the Vicious Jaws and Small Claws abilities that give you natural weapons. You can make an unarmed melee attack with your jaws for 1d8 piecing damage, or an unarmed melee attack with your claws for 1d4 slashing damage.

Warder's Intuition | Whenever you make an Intelligence (Investigation) check or an Ability Check involving Thieves' Tools, you can roll a d4 and add the number rolled to the total ability check.

Wards and Seals | You can cast the Alarm and Mage Armor spells with this trait. Starting at 3rd level, you can also cast the Arcane Lock spell with it. Once you cast either spell with this trait, you can't cast that spell again until you finish a Long Rest. Intelligence is your Spellcasting Ability for these spells, and you don't require material components when you cast them with this trait.
