Reputation and Infamy
Reputation and Infamy
NPCs (As well as Player Characters) in Folklore and Folly come in all shapes, sizes and most importantly reputation. A reputation can effect how much information is known about them, what they are capable of, and how accurate the information is. Depending on the source some information may lean more towards the fantastical over factual. But a name will always carry some form of weight. NPC's like Faustius Gehanne, Mei Sang or Varne Baker have reputations that are so well known, simply mentioning them to most people will illicit a specific response. While other's like Gentle of the Living Wilds or Elaran Shobi might only be well known in their local communities. Not all NPC's will have enough of a reputation to be known widely but their communities will most likely always have an opinion on them.
Equally, PC's can gain levels of reputation. As members of the Steward's Tower, you already carry some of the reputation and power which comes with the name. As you move through Faunus, your reputation will change depending on your actions and results of your adventures. What problems solved and who is helped might effect who will help you in the future or who will seek you out in their time of need.
