Lasting Impacts
"Before anyone knew it, the sky shifted colors and the horizon its setting. The air sparked with wild magic and beasts from the imagination and beyond could be seen. Phasing between material and all other planes in flashes of lightning. It was as if the air was sucked from our lungs and we were drowning on dry land. And as heads turned upwards to the sky, looking for some sense of familiarity or direction, a deep purple moon greeted our eyes with its eerie face. Truly it looked as if the world were ending and we were to be consumed." Quote - André Brunhild to interviewer when asked about the Convergence, June 7th 1837.
On March 18th 1837, the current deadliest rift storm in recorded history made landfall, generating dozens of smaller storms and spanning a large portion of the midwestern and south western area of Aquila. In the wake of the storm itself, at least 692 individuals were killed, though numbers are theorized to be much higher. Over 2,200 were injured and 347 people were reported missing.
The main rift was approximately 2,423 miles wide and lasted a total of nine hours. Leaving a 210-mile-long storm track which covered huge sections of [[]],[[]], and [[]]. In addition the smaller storms that broke off went on to continue the path of devastation for twelve more hours. Creating both the largest and longest natural disaster in the recorded history of the northern continents and possibly the world.
After an intensive two year study funded by the Voyagers Guild, partnered with the Wildlings, the findings were released to the world in 1840, confirming some details and hypothesizing the following: The event in question had severely effected both the material and feywild planes. The current favored theory is one, or more, planes orbiting to close to each other caused the Feywild to begin heavily overlapping with the material plane. A shift that could cause the change in the raw magic of the world by contaminating it with the Feywild's own. Permanently tying the two planes together and leading this event to be referred to as the Convergence. Additionally, it is speculated that the appearance of Umbra, and its accompanying constellations, was caused by a huge permanent rift opening up above the atmosphere during the event. Claiming the celestial body to be the Feywild's moon as the Wildlings expeditions recorded the same cycle of lunar movement between the two.

Umbra and the Oceans
On the sixth hour of its nine hour rein of terror, a second moon suddenly became visible in the sky above the eye of the storm and rift. Over the remaining three hours of activity the second moon slowly became visible to the rest of the world. On the third hour, after the moon became fully visible, the ocean tides rapidly began to pull back from shoreline. Within three minutes all coastlines were hit with devastating tsunamis with unrecordable casualties and damages. Any ports or coastal civilizations were instantly wiped out. Every country effected quickly jumped into evacuating their civilians and trying to minimize the damages.
In the days following the event, it was discovered that not only had the tides changed but also the coastal line. The ocean tides had permanently risen by approximately four stories, around 56 feet. Leaving many smaller ports completely submerged and only the highest points of coastal cities visible at the lowest tides. Tidal patterns had also changed. Over the course of three months it was determined the tidal pattern now had two sets of tides. The original high and low tide by the original moon, Luna. And the new high and low tides. Effectively making sailing any trade routes impossible between the new tides and the shift in celestial constellations. And cutting the continents off from each other. Later named Umbra, this second moon has remained visible to this day and its effects are still felt.
