  • Virtues:

    • Chief among the Virtues of Eiri is justice. Eiri herself is the judge of the afterlife.
    • The Honkyo Empress is Eiri's messenger, and her authority is absolute.
  • Rituals:

    • Moonlight Reunion: Every 5 years, the Honkyo Empress is granted a vision of the future by Eiri under the light of the full moon.
  • *Funeral Rites:

    • It is believed that once a person has perished, their body must be sent to the Lunar Kingdom on the moon where their ancestors and Eiri no Tsukihime resides. The body is burned, their ashes placed in a paper lantern, and set to the sky at midnight where the deceased will meet their gracious goddess.
  • History:

    • On a clear night under a full moon, a young shaman girl predicted a raid on her village north of Honkyo by a Shisei warband. The militia was mustered and prepared an ambush. The attack came. Despite the Shisei war party having numbers, equipment, and experience, the panic and chaos caused by the unexpected ambush caused the Shisei clan to withdrew. The story became practically folklore among the Honkyo people. 5 years later, another vision from Eiri proclaimed her as Empress of Honkyo, and it was made to be so. The Moonlight Reunion every 5 years pushed Honkyo to greater prosperity. Each successive heir was declared by Eiri's premonitions, and the Mokuren name was passed down for 81 successive generations.
