Serith of the Folded Voice

🏛️ Basic Info

  • Role: Reverse-Prophet of the Final Frequency, Oracle of Discordance

  • Race: Elf (Echo-altered)

  • Age: Unrecorded; presumed over 150 due to pre-Cult records

  • Affiliation: The Cult of the Final Frequency

  • Location: The Vault of Refracted Selves, aboard The Spiral Choir

🎭 Personality & Motivations

  • Core Traits: Serith is cryptic, theatrical, and eerily serene. She speaks only in reverse-tonal incantations, a form of utterance that bypasses traditional language to affect the subconscious of those listening. Her presence is deeply unsettling — like hearing something familiar and wrong at the same time.

  • Flaws & Secrets:

    • Serith’s voice is not her own. It was severed in a ritual at the Hollow Tone and replaced with a harmonic echo that speaks in mirrored intent.

    • She is partially unstuck in time — her thoughts often reference events that have not yet occurred, or have occurred differently.

    • Her prophecies, while often accurate, require interpretation through contradiction — many cultists fail to grasp them.

  • What Does She Want?
To prepare the world’s collective mind for the arrival of the Final Frequency. She views herself as a tuning fork for existence, tasked with dissolving cognitive resistance and revealing the Unison through dissonance.

📖 Backstory & Role in the Story

Once a Veilbinder initiate named Serinelle Tavi, Serith vanished during a breach containment mission near the edge of the Folded Shardline. She was later found humming in a collapsed vault, her vocal cords transformed and her mind "folded." Her former order declared her Echo-corrupted, but she was claimed by the Cult, renamed, and revered ever since.

In the story, Serith may appear as a prophetic antagonist or eerie guide — offering riddles that, when reversed, point the way forward. Her chants have been known to suppress planar stabilization spells, and her presence often indicates that the Veil is weakening nearby.
