Mháthair

The first season of every year is Mháthair; the season of the Mother. This is a time of birth, where the rains bring fresh life to the frozen lands. During this time the Goddess Diabhal tends to the land in honor of Sadhbh.

This season is characterized by the thawing of the colds of winter and the coming of the rains. It is a season of fertility, and associated with the element of water.
