Introduction
The continent of Velastra stands upon four great sleeping powers—Primordials, titanic elemental beings bound beneath each of the realm’s mighty nations. Long ago, these entities were sealed away with powerful relics and divine rites, and though empires rose and fell above their prison-thrones, the seals held. Until now.
In the west, Caelvaris, once the shining heart of relic authority and divine rule, bleeds power behind gilded walls. Its people speak in whispers of a stolen relic, a shadowed heir, and the ever-thinning barrier between their world and the sleeping fire beneath.
In the south, Sylvaraeth watches with wary eyes from the roots of its world-tree. The druids feel the pulse of elemental imbalance. The wind shifts. Old dreams stir.
To the north, Nyssavren hoards its crystals and secrets. The High Houses scheme beneath aurora-lit skies, bartering with truths best left buried.
And in the storm-locked deserts of the east, Vhar-Khazel strengthens its fleets and magitek battalions. Airships cast shadows over distant lands, but the Aetherwrights are silent on their purpose.
For hundreds of years, the nations of Velastra have clung to uneasy peace—their commerce and treaties bound by mutual need, and mutual distrust. But now, something has gone missing.
The Kingdom of Caelvaris once shone as a beacon of peace and magical harmony, ruled by a sacred bloodline blessed by the Primordials. But peace shattered when the Ember Crown was stolen, a relic that seals the slumbering Primordial of Fire, Ifrexus, deep within Mount Veyne.
Without the Crown’s magic, Ifrexus stirs, and firestorms rage across Caelvaris. Crops wither, villages burn, and terrifying beasts of flame—Vulkari—roam the wilds. Rumors spread that the thief is none other than Prince Dareth, heir to the throne, once thought dead in a border war five years ago.
The royal court is fractured. Some demand war. Others call for negotiation. And there are murmurings that The Church of Flame is seeking to awaken Ifrexus entirely, believing that through destruction, a pure world will rise.
The players are part of The Ember Vigil, an order of elite warriors, scholars, and relic-hunters, and are charged to recover the Ember Crown and discover the truth behind Prince Dareth's supposed return. Their journey will take them through perilous ruins, ravaged villages overrun by elemental monstrosities and to the brink of utter desolation.
But as they uncover forgotten truths, they must ask: Is Prince Dareth a traitor, a savior… or a vessel for something far worse? That is, if he is even alive in the first place…
